All this talk of Orwell, 1984, Big Brother, Winston, Julia, but it is
Goldstein we need to be conscious of. Emmanuel Goldstein is a
character in George Orwell's classic dystopian novel Nineteen
Eighty-Four. He is made out to be the most wanted and most hated
criminal, the enemy of the state who must be stopped. This, according
to the Party. He remains a mysterious figure. And this is what we have
now with these three. Though they are in different stages, one is in
prison, another under house arrent, another yet to be captured, all
are, to a great extent now, and will inevitably, become fictitious
anti-Party propaganda perpetuated by the Party and those who support
the party, its organization called "The Brotherhood", an alliance of
Big Gov/Gig Science-Tech. Soon, like Goldstein, these three wll only
be seen and heard on telescreens, and will function as fabrication for
of the Ministry of Truth.
