Latke-Hamantasch Debate Becomes Verbal Food Fight

P wants Maxine, a parody of the hard boiled investigator to lose her
license; he needs a rogue fraud investigator. Maxine, never a by the
books investigator, always ready to bend and break the rules to her
advantage and to the advantage of her clients, relishes the role. So,
again the traditional hard boil boiler plate, she takes that boat trip
bender with the Borderline people, after her buddy Heidi recommends it
and ends up soaking herself into bed and business with Joel Wiener,
who helps her out of her license by using her, as Horst does, as the
others do, though Maxine sees these conflicts of interest as a choice
between friendship and super-picky guideline adherence (18).

With fatal friends like that...of course her buddy, a pop buddy in the
sitcom, not in the hard boiled parody genre, Heidi, not exactly the
professor in the detective story, is sleeping with her Horst. Maybe
that's why she sent Max off on that cruise? Max suspects.

So, as P scrambles the Sit-com over the Hays Codes of hazy Hollywood
detectives hard boiled, we can taste the patterns, a playful palate
washed down the drain with waste waster, but then there is Windust.

She's not drunk. Not high. Not on a bender. Not missing her X.

And if being a rogue fraud investigator makes her more attractive to
her clients, and to Reg and Outfield and the rest, it is her
investigation of hash, not eggs, hard or scrambled that Windust is
interested in. Oh, and her brother-in-law.

Her sister is married to a badass.

Can Maxine top that?

Her mom thinks he looks like a catch. Her Pop thinks he's a spook.

Perfect. No substance abuse required.
