The true poetry (bound up w Moon-Goddess ) is a magical language which was rejected by the early Greek philosophers, who substituted the religion of logic and a rational poetic for the poetry
of poetic myth.

John Clare, Keats (in Belle Dame sans Merci" and Coleridge in theAncient Mariner worshipped the White Goddess (and Blake was a poetic college unto himself. 
The Goddess, among other things, OSA lovely slender woman who may suddenly transform herself into sow, mare, bitch, vixen, she-ass, weasel, serpent, owl, she-wolf, tigress, mermaid or loathsome hag. She is, of course, the Moon, the object of all fertility ritual. But the poet concerned with this theme cannot draw distinctions between " sacred history" and" profane myth".
