Forgive if this has gone around on the guitar before.....but
in V. (p 6 in the Bantam) we read:  "he [Pappy Hod] would pull out a handkerchief
and not a heater or gat after all, blow his nose and laugh at whatever
girl [it] happened to be sitting across the table." 

Is this a reference to sex in the way I've read the Stones' line "She blew my nose
and then she blew my mind" is [supposed to be]?....
