moon's antarctica

This seemed pretty clear to me...

a beach alien as the moon's antarctic


Written in a boring, non-poetic way: a beach that is alien in the same way that the moon's antarctic is alien.

The moonscape does remind me of Antarctica in a way... cold, dry, lifeless, inhospitable to man, only reached by brain explorers (well, now there's a scientist colony there... but before that).

It's a beautiful passage. Thanks for reminding me of it.
