As a former paranoid, I agree with Lewis.  I believe that conspiracy
theorists aren't paranoid at all, but just gullible cult members.  Don't
confuse TRP's with R A Wilson's work.  Paranoia is a metaphor in OBA's
novels, and conspiracy theory is a quantum universe in Wilson's world(s),
and so is neither believed nor disbelieved, but is never given
out simplistically as THE truth.
