If
everything were nothing
nothing would be

the swans still swim
on shimmering water
but it's not
shimmering, that is,
from where I'm standing
or it was shimmering
just a moment ago
it couldn't tell you which
it works upon stones
glaciers, mountains,
with the same deft ease
