a-and of course, ESSO which Slothrop's "short" liked so well is that
standard oil, from the Rockefellers,
whereas Shell is "royal dutch shell" right,the foreign (to America)
provenance of which apparently gave Slothrop's Terraplane (this was a real
car name, i believe) indigestion
-- but did Bromo(-Seltzer) really help internal combustion?
