can we please not group the new pynchon novel (and inherent vice) with countless
(mostly bad) adjective noun titles???
i mean: IDLE HANDS, NAKED SOULS, LETHAL WEAPON, TRUE LIES, COLLATERAL DAMAGE,
and numerous other schwarzenegger-infused films have those kinds of titles.

thanks Mark...
chipping in, Bleeding Edge is a 2-word phrase containing an
adjectiv(al gerund) and a noun, just as Inherent Vice is a 2 word
phrase containing an adjective and a noun...two books don't make a
series, but still...
like that spy guy,
the Alexandrine Hammock
the Byzantine Footlocker
the Caledonian Clothes-hamper
the Dalmatian Cheese-grater
etc etc
