A Bunch of Unverified Stuff Concerning Thomas Pynchon

Since you all seem so nice to the newcomer, let me come out of the woodwork
too.
I've been lurking here a while now and wisely staying shut up, being
neither as well read or experienced enough to be able to bring anything new
to a discussion with a two decade history.
Aside from Gass' Introduction to The Recognitions, this New York magazine
interview with Gaddis also makes note of the rumour and includes Gaddis and
Delillo's responses to the same:
"I ask Delillo, is Gaddis really Thomas Pynchon? Delillo laughs. 'People
say *I'm *Thomas Pynchon! You don't know *who *you're talking to, do you?'
he says.
Are you really Thomas Pynchon? I ask Gaddis later. 'I've never met him or
corresponded with him,' he says. 'My own feeling is we are both on the same
track. We both stumbled on entropy as a core concept.' But, he adds, 'I
haven't read that much of Pynchon. I don't read much current fiction'"
