There are several excellnt studies of the complexity of Pointsman and
Weissmann, and others....by far, the best study of Weissmann is by
Eddins, _The Gnostic Pynchon_

Dense and difficult, but worth the trouble.

There is a major study of Weissmann and Rilke, but I can't recall the
nake of it just now.
