This is great. Roebuck Staples is a minimalist genius (as was Curtis Mayfield, who I'm pretty sure spent a fair amount of time listening to the Staples and absorbing the lesson of less can be more). Robbie Robertson went to school on both of them.

Does everyone finally feel SECURE? The people who love you the most and are on high alert to defend your freedom are spying on you for your own fucking good, so let's not get all paranoid just because a secretive branch of a constitutionally undefined entity run by a collective enterprise of the Military, private corporations, the Executive, honestly purchased congresspeople and special secret courts are monitoring everything you do, say, and think. A few conspiracy theorists can complain, maybe some progressive idealists who don't realize how dangerous the world is, some libertarians, maybe 55 or 65 % of the "public". All completely manageable with the proper application of 2 party media, legal procedures, drones, cancer, economic pressure, nice gray suits and affable eye contact.
Oh, and that golden fang stuck up your butt will be monitoring your personal spending habits and coordinating them for the sake of the national interest thanks to the ever growing skills of Jason Velveeta, boy wonder and his well trained dog, Nixy, who during his brief stay in hell picked up some very useful cyber skills. A team of rivals fucking the world for its own good.
If the president does it, It's legal.
