Thanks to both Mark and Paul.   I will have to look into some of this.   

With some of the essays in "… Dark Passages…"  being so old and so little on AtD I'll look around a bit more.  

I've read a lot of background/criticism type stuff on Cormac McCarthy,  but not much on Pynchon -  I just read his books and love them - enjoy thinking about them.   What's the best book of criticism/analysis/etc.  on the Pynchon oeuvre out there?  I want it to be current - to  include AtD.    How's "The Cambridge Companion to Thomas Pynchon"    ???  (2012)
