Pynchon Virgins

My first P read was Gravity's Rainbow, quickly followed by V.

I'm  snob who considers them his nadir.  Mason & Dixon are next in line for
me. But the razors edge has been gone for a long time.  Cypher as comedy is
past it's prime, it seems. Cypher as any McGuffin these days is called
"Pynchonian."  Pynchon's quests are not  pseudo in GR (nor V.). For me,
those two are real Pynchon.
