The internet is still fun, however, and a relatively cheap diversion of one's time and energy. I'm not sure if Coney Island still is. Plus the internet is portable. Now that we're over the hump and the basic infrastructure is in place, we're having fun and the capitalists are still scrambling for an efficient means of making us pay more for it.
(Speaking of which- The recent downage of WASTE.org, makes me think maybe we all should pony up a few bucks for the service. Anyone know how that's done properly?)
TV/radio were transitional mediums- one way info flow- with limited choices, and couldn't really replace the physical carnival ground. The internet has changed that.
