*Give me your good bad poetry on themes found in Pynchon, real or
hallucinated.*
I'll start.....
A good friend demonstrated to me one day
a jut of airship always disappearing over the horizon,
peripheral, evasive, fleeing from sight into cloud or mist
or into seeming everlasting dusk.
The distant silhouettes, the dog, the instruments...
He said in half ironical tone
there are, basically, two devotee opinions of this 'ship.
First say that only when one notices
the distinct feeling of always leaving
can one come to find it tilting in the sky,
leaving, or just having left.
Second say
that it has always left and will always arrive
it's arrival only heralded by instructingly having left.
And after all our witness to departure and approach
one second tilting as if frozen in air & gone
