New Pope/Bolano

A really excellent novel directly concerning the Argentina's  "dirty war" of 1976- 1984 (roughly) and especially the issue of "the disappeared" is The Ministry of Special Cases  by Nathan Englander (2007).   Englander's book focuses on the Jews who found themselves in that really horrendous situation.   This  was one of my "best reads" of 2012 and I hope to read more by the author.
