I thought the Gill article in NYRB had come up on the P-list, but can't find
it in the archives. For what it's worth, w/r/t his allegations about
Campbell's prejudices, I spent two years as his student and got together
with him several times a year for the next fifteen years; I didn't see what

Lemuel: Pretty much everything after the four-volume _The Masks of God_ is
restatement/distillation of that, _The Hero With a Thousand Faces_, or both.
