I was on pins and needles all afternoon because my son lives in Norman, about 5 miles down the road from Moore (where the worst of the destruction was). The phone lines were all busy and he'd lost cable and internet coverage. He finally got online via a neighbor with AT&T and put something on Facebook for his family/friends. Then after a few hours more he was able to get through to call me - whew! But I knew nothing had been said on CNN about Norman and they certainly would have had it been in direct danger - yesterday a tornado hovered over his house and the high school there. OU is in Norman.
I think it's pretty well finished in that area now - nothing more coming in. I hope so!

There was a helicopter shot of this massive funnel cloud just hovering over a suburban area- it seemed like forever. The commentator was rather dispassionately describing the scene, commentating on tornadoes of the past and what causes them to form, etc., as people were obviously being mutilated in the distance.
