Bleeding Edge - A Rolling Assessment

Well, my assessment is rolling, but gathering no positivity. I'm around 200 pages in now, and am basically thinking - reluctantly, and with great sadness - that this book is going to turn out to be Thomas Pynchon's first bona fide dud.
Many have focused on the subject matter, particularly the tech and 9/11 angles, both of which have been 'done' and - arguably - done more inventively (including, in the case of the latter and even the former, you could say) by Pynchon himself; but for me what grates is the slapdash narrative, annoying dialog, and almost total lack of the sort of prose I cherish Pynchon for.
If this wasn't a Pynchon book I would have given up on it by now. Since it is Pynchon, I'll finish it.
