John,

I'm sure I won't convince you to love Maxine as much as I do, but....well,
she is wonderful to me. I love her and I love her family and the host of
characters that support her. The book is funny. I've been laughing my ass
off reading it. Sure, there are the Pynchon puns and boners, and the
saturation with media, all that, but at the bindings this book is a story
about Maxine and her family. I just love it for that.
