Which one, I looked on the web & there are several...also pictures of Mr
Obama sportin' one...in my ontology, supported by the instructive tale of
Lyle Bland in GR, it's a fraternal organization with mystical & charitable
items in its mission statement...and some unfortunate bad blood betwixt its
history and that of its (& our) bros & sisses in the Roman Catholic
fraternal/mystical/charitable enclave-conclave ...
Which, like that between,oh irish and irish, say, and other closely related
internecine rifts, is a woeful and sad misunderstanding and the eventual
inevitable rapprochement will be wonderful, may we all live to see it,
selah!
Lyle Bland found the mystical aspects overwhelmingly appealing, but unlike
the suggestions of the conspiracy theorists who dug up or doctored the
photo of young Barry O with a beringed hand in a masonic grip at his high
school graduation with circles and arrows (more interesting to me was the
hair, wouldn't it be cool if his current barber would work out of a
non-milspec playbook and give his hair, and us, his watchers, some relief
from close-cropped overdefined over-control?) - unlike those conspiracy
theorists suggest, Bland's mystical apotheosis involved relinquishing
rather than accumulating worldly control, which benign neglect, one might
opine, allowed Baby Tyrone to flourish, seek his own identity, escape
Pointsman and evade Major Marvy, achieving a kind of freedom that a less
enraptured Bland would've bud-nipped.
