I didn't translate it either and I think nothing was los-t, but It just
occured to me that (as seen from the angle of Inherent Vice) GR is much
more about early-70s Los Angeles than we had previously thought, so the pun
here might be a blend of Los! (a rough command familiar from many war and
holocaust movies where nazis are prodding columns of prisoners to go on)
and Angeles (that fly).
