Maxine's wealth bothered me in the book....not re guilt but in believability....she, honest fraud investigator turned down a 5 grand retainer for.... $500......she gets/got no money from Horst....she works on spec sometimes.....does she get a nice percentage of any fraud money she finds/saves.? Like a civil trial lawyer? We don't learn anything about her compensation, do we?

Watched a sequel to wanted and desired, the roman Polanski case, this revolving around his arbitrary arrest by Swiss authorities, for reasons I still can't fathom. Surely not because of UBS? Anyway , the claim was that mr Polanski was not a rich man, that it would take some maneuvering to collect the 4 million + Swiss francs for bail which surprised me.
