Nice work, Dave. The idea of Driscoll as intermediary, messenger,
page... BE's version of CoL49's Loren Passerine? Only, like, secular?

What's her message? You could argue that unlike Passerine, who is a
function (and a reference for paranoid readers to endlessly decode),
Driscoll is the medium who becomes the message, in the novel. She
becomes a character.
