BLEEDING EDGE is # 7 in hardcover fiction on PW & AP bestseller lists for sales 9/15- 9/22. ( (They may be using the NYTimes list and not saying so, can't confirm). All the books ahead of it are ......."easy reader books" for adults, shall I call them? ( "Commercial fiction" in the phrase that condemns so many books to hell). 

Yes, Penguin did a solid job for the Pynchons as his lifetime of fans did too.
