books every intelligent person should read

dog of the south is a book i can't seem to keep hold of in my mind. i
read it, love it, then immediately forget it, like some kind of alien
mindwipe. which is actually great, because reading it is always like
reading it again for the first time. i take it with me on every long
trip as i find reading it relaxing.
