Why should the US help avoid a disastrous outcome? Let Russia crash.
Isn't this the plan? And it's working. And it's good for the US. The
call for a life line from Germany is being called upon by US Capital
(Krugman) and by anti-American zealots, but your average American
holds no Russian currency, has no Russian bonds, has no job that
produces products that Russia buys. On the contrary, Russia's losses
are our gains. Let it crash. Obama has made his deal on the budget to
protect the immigrants here, the most vulnerable and the poor. Sure,
he rolls back some Bank regs, sure he angers the base of the
Democratic party, but he gets a budget and an immigration executive
order in place. A good compromise. And he kicks Putin in the teeth
again, as the Shale oil boom lets him give the finger to OPEC.
Bye-bye OPEC! The most evil cartel that ever was. Hello cheap gas and
full employment and 5% GDP. Unemployment? Not here. And wages are on
the rise. Why should we worry about Russia? They have nukes? Let them
eat nukes.
