I joined the list a little bit before IV came out but haven't been
following the IV discussion too closely. I enjoyed the novel and had
fun picking out little things (like the Brazilian bar called
Cangaceiros), but the list-serv discussion is too noisy for me to
follow. I usually just read 'alice wellington's posts and scan the
rest.

There is a lot of grant randomness thrown onto that list. Some of the
common posters are obsessively dedicated to discussing Pynchon!
