Chris Hedges: Eros & Thanatos cute meet v the grace of couples in love

 Re-reading that episode from GR, I think about that Pynchon, who was
such an extraordinary talent, a young genius in the zone.

Anyway reading Hedges's book, _War is a Force_, in the last chapter,
"Eros and Thanatos", I was moved by the beauty of his thoughts about
love, loneliness, nightmares, and grace. Here, not exactly as it
appears in the book, are his ideas on humanity, happiness and meaning,
grace, war, and love. and the greatest of these is charity.
