Alain Resnais (1922 - 2014), requiescat in pace ...

Great filmmaker. The first three films will command the most attention, and
they're all fabulous, but he continued to create plenty of fascinating and
enjoyable films throughout his career. The whimsical but deceptively
sophisticated exploration of time, identity and alternative/multiple
realities should appeal to Pynchonians. In addition to the
early classics Muriel, Je t'aime je t'aime, Providence and Mon Oncle
Americain all come highly recommended.
