The ultra-nationalists now in charge in Kiev say they will root out
corruption and look out for ordinary people--as long as they speak
Ukrainian, that is. But they are tied to the super-rich oligarchs who
have ruled the economy, no matter which political faction was in
charge. Likewise, the sanctimonious outrage of U.S. officials at
Putin's "violation of international law" masks their own geopolitical
designs in Ukraine--to increase the economic and military reach of the
U.S. and Europe at the expense of their imperial rival
