And, even though you are not enamored of BLEEDING EDGE, doncha love the way TRP
puts THE NEWSPAPER OF RECORD in italics---I can't do it here---like one does books or movies on paper, that is using the style guidelines for FICTION?

(And, although someone on the wiki criticized the copyediting for NOT italicizing "The Fatty Arbuckle Story" with Johnny Depp, Pynchon did not 'cause THAT movie ain't been made....)

I'm not objecting to the coup's being
illegal, but at the US being both complicit and using it as
a means to resuscitate the Cold War. Actually, as per the
latest NY Times headline - If Not a Cold War, Then a Return
To a Chilly Rivalry - it already sounds as if, sabers
sufficiently rattled, the US is retreating to its usual
covert string-pullling role. So hopefully, we''l be spared
any more Bomb Russia diatribes (save from the stray idiot on
 this list).

Thomas Eckhardt expressed my feelings best (adding US
 propaganda into the mix):
"My anger is mainly directed at western and especially
German propaganda. I hate Nazis, and I hate being treated
 like an idiot."

I've long since learned to read between the lines of what I
read in the "paper of record," and I question everything. So
it's particularly disappointing when I see people who are
intelligent and analytical-minded (here, and among my
real-world friends) accepting the official story
 unquestioningly.

And if you think I'm just upset because I'm some sort of
secretive Putin-worshipper, I get equally riled by local
propaganda as well. Here in NYC, Di Blasio, way too
progressive for the bankers and realtors, managed to become
mayor after the officially sanctioned candidates
self-destructed. While the NY Post is refreshingly honest -
the night before the elections their front page blasted Di
Blasio for spending his honeymoon years ago in Cuba - the NY
Times plays it like they always do, slowly and steadily
building up an image of Di Blasio as well-meaning, but
bumbling and out of his element. I fucking hate propaganda,
especially when it poses as "free press."

So you think the uprising was illegal?  All uprisings
are illegal, until they succeed. The powers in charge either
accede to the political demands, or they are deposed, or the
put down the uprising then and prosecute or kill the
participants. Were you outspoken against the Egyptian
 2013uprising in which Morsi was
deposed?   The mixed crowd in the Ukraine?
Are they better off without Yanukovich?  They were
willing to die for that result, but only after he started
killing them in the streets.  Should they have backed
 down?
