The Goldfinch is a Romance ( in Melville's and TRPs literary senses.)

Like TRP she buries deeply and plentifully many literary allusions.

She overtly places many movie allusions.

She, too, is a fine cumulative observation list-maker in THE GOLDFINCH, w them carrying the aggregated force that many of P's do, IMHO.

Chance is a key theme, as it is in AtD at least, overtly mentioned more than once inTHE GOLDFINCH.

She takes about as long between books as TRP did (until recently.)

She keeps her private life to herself.

I think the bookish and voracious reader Ms. Tartt is said to be has read Pynchon and some of his ( near-) uniquenesses are in her ' root system' --if not her conscious reuse, and reworking.
