I'm not much into Newson's earlier stuff but her Have One on Me cycle
had me purchasing the vinyl three-record set. And then something to
play it on. Such analogue greatness.
Not surprised she has such a pivotal role in Inherent Vice. She is an
artist who prefers to control every aspect of their work's reception,
like PTA. She played a small festival here a few years ago and spent
most of the set chewing out the sound folks for foldback issues etc. A
few thousand onlookers were confused by the harp-player not playing
harp before them, but rather yelling at some absent mixer. She's a
perfectionist, I guessed, and I expect no less from Anderson's IV.
