I am sorry, but this is once more a typical example of utter BS
journalism. The author's take on Putin's reaction to the historical
events in Dresden is pure speculation. "May very well have have helped
to shape Putin's operational code." "May very well have" indeed. The
article is full of this kind of stuff ("chances are high", "may have
seen" etc.).
And then the zinger:
"This analysis does not bode well for the future of the Ukraine crisis."
Analysis? An "analysis" based on Putin's probable presence in Dresden at
the time and the thoughts he may have had as imagined by the author? And
this "analysis" based upon speculation then serves as an indicator for
Russian policy on Ukraine? A-and they call this journalism? If it wasn't
so sad...
The "Guardian" used to be a good newpaper.
You can read better than that.
