Speed Kills

Funny line.
Surprised at the interest of our seemingly most pro wall street p-lister, alice. How does Adam Smith theory justify high speed trading? Where is the common benefit, and what is the difference between this and personal or electronic card-counting in a casino?

I spent the morning finishing a preparation of Chaga dual infusion tea and the second batch of kimchi this week. There is no fast home made kimchi, especially if you grow your own daikon and Napa Cabbage. There was a rare pair of cardinals at the feeder while I worked. No amount of speed can bring a cardinal or the delight of an exceptionally colorful autumn. Nevetheless I feel that the level and density and ease of electronic communication is a mixed bag, ranging from a rich enhancement of life to addictive oblivion. The speed of light is something we have to adapt to with some kind of commensurate grace.
