Early Pictures of Pynchon

[Robert Nelson]

The 1952 Yearbook of Oyster Bay High School has pictures of Pynchon from
his junior year - both in the Junior Class Picture and in the picture of
the Spanish Club. He would have been 14 or 15 years old at the time of
these photos.

I've never seen these pictures in any other published work or on the web.

It's interesting to note that, although the 1953 Yearbook states that
Pynchon was in the National Honor Society during his Junior year, the 1952
yearbook does not list him as such, and he doesn't seem to be in the NHS
picture.
