Apart from the fact that I think BE is a wonderful novel and the author 
of that review doesn't, this --

"Eine realistische Darstellung muss die Welt so verwirrend und belanglos 
abbilden, wie sie ist. Ein guter Roman aber kann daraus nicht werden."

Roughly: 'Realistic representation has to show the world as confusing 
and irrelevant as it is. A good novel, however, can not result from this.'

-- is either lazy or stupid. This is wrong for so many reasons...
