Inherent Vice trailer

Definitely joshin', David.

The trailer could be read as a spoof of Coen Brothers comedies,
including The Big Lebowski, and other 90s-Gen directors Anderson grew
up with and has supplanted. The music and editing is Tarantino, not
Pynchon (that trailer would be more Elephant's Memory and Fapardokly
and Yummy Yummy Yummy ugh my tummy). The last few sequences also
remind me of the ending of PTA's Hard Eight, possibly given the
knock-out treatment here.

The key image, though, is of the kneeling Doc holding his
nether-regions safe as a fleet of policemen pass by. That's the
Pynchon this damn flick should aim for. I have great hopes.
