Not Pynchon (at least not much) -- and also no politics, I promise.

There are two new albums out now that I very much recommend: Former
Go-Betweens' Robert Forster's "Songs to Play" and the Chills' "Silver
Bullets".

The Guardian provides more information for the uninitiated:

Jonathan Lethem is a fan of both bands (in fact he called the
Go-Betweens his favourite band):

More generally, Robert Christgau has the most insightful takes on the
Chills and the Go-Betweens and also on Robert Forster as a solo artist.

I am sure that James Kyllo, yet another admirer of the Go-Betweens,
would have enjoyed these records...

Robert Forster had a role in Robert Bramkamp's GR-inspired movie
"Prüfstand 7" but actually very much prefers Joyce to Pynchon (cf. the
cover of "Danger in the Past").
