From Caligari to Hitler

I watched a very interesting documentary on Netflix called From Caligari to
Hitler, based on Siegfried Kracauer's book published in 1947. It is an
interesting study on Wiemar Cinema, something no doubt Pynchon details in
his Wiemar passages in Gravity's Rainbow. It no doubt chronicles the greats
Murnau, Lang, Lubitsch... but also lesser knowns, and a sort-of evolution
of style from Expressionism to New Objectivity. I've always found Pynchon's
Franz and Leni Polker, their story, one of the most compelling in Gravity's
Rainbow...
