p. 58 .."sorting out the stockings, which have come ashore all a-jumble"....
Now I ask you, why this line? Why would P, among all the ways of describing
M & D's arrival, describe them as in the guest Suite sorting out the stockings?
With all that has not been said about small doings of their trip and day; with
'more normal' words about being in their Suite? Or if that was the
simple thing they
were doing-- just a fact--why does he write "which have come ashore
all a--jumble"?
This suggests to me the line in AtD about the jumble of t-shirts
"which will be the closest
you will come to pure anarchy" if I remember it a--right.
