M & D tangential: Equator

No, this is not an influence on The Equator scene in M & D...just a
remark from the novel
showing how little knowledge a bright upper-middle class wife of a
Parliamentarian had
of the Equator in the 1920's.

She once and one other time, Conrad's "the Horror" is alluded
to....but about such trivial things,
the satire bites.....
