Seems so solidly true to me. The 'events' are the fact of doing the
Transit; the fact of having to get to the Cape on ships; the fact they
were in the Cape and will get to America.
The rest is adventures that get told. Telling is not objective. How
much exaggeration, unreliability is what we explore. And what the
scenes mean re insightful vision of life, history, etc.
