Pynchon scholar, Orbit publisher Dr. Martin Eve (and Dr. Caroline
Edwards) have been awarded this huge grant.

Although I am not an academic, I believe fully in open scholarship for
all interested minds and people.

We on the Pynchon list sorta live out this open "scholarship" (and
unscholarly opinion-mongering) ALSO.

If regular citizens are going to talk with more substance about
substantive stuff; IF academe is going to break out of its
solipsism,  this is a giant leap forward, imho.
