OK, just for the hell of it, I'll toss out two suggested Pynchon-reading sequences:

1. COL49, Vineland, Inherent Vice, Bleeding Edge.

2. M&D, V., Against the Day, GR.

The first sequence is of his "lighter," more California-based books, constituting a history of paranoia and snooping in the US.

The second, his "heavier," more internationally-focussed books, constituting a history of colonialism, imperialism and militarism.
