p. 150..."Once again Dixon's unsuspicious Heart is surpriz' d"...
We have read of D's guilelessness before......P finds various ways
of characterizing Dixon's......innocence?...goodness?.........
And, see previous post on 'stolid' (again) Dutchman ..........
Is this repetition a weakness in M & D? Rounded characters
like Dixon (not the Dutchman, who is seen as another stereotype of his country)
are supposed to be characterized with actions that reveal not just
repeated words that say it over and over......???
