I don't have the book next to me, but I think shivers and voids would be
"piss shivers" (the sensation of becoming cold while urinating) and voiding
one's bowels, a euphemism for shitting your pants. The implication here
being that if all else fails, conspiracy theorists can scare each other by
pointing out the grasp the Illuminati has on the world.
