In this text Pynchon posits a medium that unifies time, as opposed to
space. Space cohesion is assumed, just not proved.  The "worlds" thus
unified by Time Aether are not alternate dimensions, just all time-worlds.
Such a multiple-option time world would allow for do-overs, like a video
game.  That would be "kinder" to the one in control of time.

Multiple Universes aren't in this model.
